As soon as she started dental school, Dr Phelan knew she wanted to be an orthodontist. She graduated from the University of Queensland in 2005 as a dentist with First Class Honours and went on to gain valuable experience working in general practice before moving to Sydney to pursue her passion for orthodontics. It was here that she completed her Clinical Doctorate (DClinDent) in Orthodontics at the University of Sydney.
Dr Phelan’s friendly manner and enthusiastic presence helps her patients feel reassured and relaxed at all times. Known for always going the extra mile, she is a perfectionist who prides herself on achieving results that exceed her patient’s expectations.
Having grown up and attended school in Coorparoo at Loreto College, she jumped at the opportunity to return to her hometown and open Edge Orthodontics with her husband, Dr Lachlan Crowther.
Dr Phelan has a keen appetite for expanding her knowledge in the field of orthodontics and has been involved in several research projects, including working on a study with the University of Michigan on facial growth and development.
During her downtime she enjoys keeping fit, spending time with friends and family and trying not to talk endlessly about teeth with Lachlan!
