Dr Riaan Foot was born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa. He completed his undergraduate dental training at the University of Stellenbosch and it was during his time as a student, whilst treating orthodontic patients in the student clinic, that he discovered a passion for orthodontics. He also enrolled and completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Interceptive Orthodontics at the University of the Western Cape. After relocating to Australia he completed the primary examinations to the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons and the final examinations of the Australian Dental Council granting him full Dental Board registration.
