After completing his undergraduate studies at Sam Houston State University, Huntsville, Texas, USA, Associate Professor Mike Razza earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) from Baylor College of Dentistry, Dallas, Texas, USA. Dr Razza later went on to receive his Certificate in Orthodontics from the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Dentistry, USA and has been teaching in the profession for 23 years and in private practice for 18 years.
Associate Professor Razza is an active member of the Australian Society of Orthodontists (ASO) as a past Federal ASO president and a past ASO WA Branch President. Dr Razza is also an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Asian Pacific Society of Orthodontists and the Australian Dental Association. He is a Fellow of the International College of Dentists, a Fellow of the Academy of Dentistry International and a member of Delta Sigma Delta. He is a frequent lecturer in his profession and to dental and postgraduate students.
In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and playing golf.
Dr Stamatis is a graduate of the University of Western Australia where he obtained his BDSc and MDSc degrees. He has 10 years of experience in general dentistry and 15 years in orthodontics.
Dr Stamatis often lectures to staff and dental assistants, as well as to students at the Dental School of the University of Western Australia. He keeps in touch with the latest advances in his field.
Dr Stamatis and his wife have three children, who keep him very active out of office hours. Dr Stamatis is an active member of the Hellenic Community of W.A. In his remaining free time, he enjoys cooking, gardening and spending time with his dog, Daisy.
Dr. Mithran Goonewardene completed his Bachelor of Dental Science with Honours from the University of Western Australia and undertook his specialist training at the Forsyth Dental Center in Boston, USA, obtaining a Certificate in Orthodontics from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine/Forsyth Dental Center and a Master of Medical Science degree from the Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Goonewardene is head of orthodontics and the University of Western Australia and combines part-time practice in Subiaco, Booragoon and Broome for nearly 30 years. He delivers numerous lectures and courses locally, nationally and internationally and plays an active role in education and delivery of orthodontic and surgical services in Sri Lanka, where he visits regularly.
Dr. Goonewardene is an active member of the Australian Society of Orthodontists, the American Association of Orthodontists, the Sri Lankan Orthodontic Society and the Australian Dental Association. He is a full member of the Edward H. Angle Society of Orthodontists. Dr. Goonewardene is a Fellow of the International College of Dentists and a Fellow of the Academy of Dentistry International.
Dr. Goonewardene is a proud father of seven children. Roy the oldest is an orthodontist who works in the practice. Christine is a physiotherapist, Georgia is studying in London, Katherine and Elizabeth are working in London and Andrew studying at UWA. Jasmine, a todler is keeping both mum Tania and dad busy at home.
Dr Roy Goonewardene completed his Bachelor of Dental Science from the University of Western Australia. Whilst working as a practicing dentist he completed a Bachelor of Science in Dentistry with Honours. He undertook his specialist orthodontic training in the United States at one of the pre-eminent orthodontic departments at the University of Connecticut under Professor Ravindra Nanda and Professor Charles Burstone, obtaining a Certificate in Orthodontics and a Master of Dental Science degree. Prior to his time in the USA, he completed a short term postgraduate orthodontic residency in Aarhus, Denmark at the Aarhus University.
Dr Goonewardene is an active member of the Australian Society of Orthodontists, the American Association of Orthodontists and the Australian Dental Association. He has completed research involving new techniques in the field as well as evaluating the stability of orthognathic procedures with special interest in the area of orthodontics and surgery. In his downtime, he enjoys playing tennis, watching the West Coast Eagles/Boston Celtics, live music and spending time with his family and friends.
Dr Hamilton has completed his Bachelor of Dental Science with Honours, the Bachelor of Science in Dentistry with Honours and the Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry in Orthodontics at The University of Western Australia. Dr. Hamilton was successful in the Fellowship of the RACDS and has successfully completed the examinations for the MRACDS(Ortho) and the MorthRCDS(Edin) from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh.
He is well qualified and has lectured on several topics at national level. He has completed research evaluating the efficiency of various contemporary orthodontic appliances, as well as the stability following combined orthodontic and orthognathic surgical treatment. Dr Hamilton’s research has been published and presented at several international orthodontic meetings.
