The Look Orthodontics: Epping
Shaneel’s initial involvement with the practice was as a teenage boy when he had his own orthodontic treatment completed by Dr Martyn Riley. Inspired by his experience Shaneel went on to study Dentistry at Melbourne University. After graduation Shaneel Shastri worked in general dentistry for 5 years both in Melbourne and Cairns. During that time he developed a strong interest in aesthetic dentistry and multidisciplinary treatment planning while continuing his further education resulting in his fellowship to the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. Shaneel then pursued specialist orthodontic training completing his Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in orthodontics. His training encompassed all aspects of orthodontic treatment including special expertise in Invisalign treatments. Shaneel is certified by the Australian Orthodontic Board (AOB). Shaneel is delighted to be back working in the area he was bought up in. He brings to the practice a wealth of experience and knowledge in Orthodontics and other areas of dentistry. When not creating smiles at The Look Orthodontics, Shaneel enjoys spending time with his wife and his family, as well as fishing and photography.
Dr Riley graduated from Dentistry in 1979 (BDSc) and completed his Orthodontic specialist training in 1982 (MDSc). He founded The Look Orthodontics in 1983 and has worked as a specialist orthodontist in the North Western suburbs of Melbourne since then. He has been involved in many activities over the years including presidency of the local Dental Group, teaching final year dental students, president of the local Lions club and Commodore of the Multihull Yacht club of Victoria. Dr Riley is vastly experienced in all areas of orthodontic treatment and is now enjoying the privilege of treating the children of children he treated many years ago. Known affectionately in the local area as ‘Smiley Riley’, you will be greeted with a broad smile and receive excellent orthodontic care while enjoying a laugh and interesting conversation. Dr Riley has four grown up daughters and three younger stepchildren who keep him and his wife very busy. When not involved in family activities he loves to be out on the water or at the beach either sailing, fishing or swimming.
