The Bachmayer Orthodontic Clinic: Parramatta

Dr Bachmayer graduated as a dentist from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa, in 1979 and practiced General Dentistry for three years. In 1985 he graduated as an orthodontist from the University of Toronto, Canada, where he received a Diploma in Orthodontics and a Master of Science degree. Since arriving in Australia in 1986, he has maintained a private practice in orthodontics.

Dr Bachmayer has been involved in post-graduate teaching at the Orthodontic Department of the University of Sydney for many years and also hosts lectures each year for his dental colleagues to learn the latest treatment modalities in dentistry.

During his studies of orthodontics, Dr Bachmayer did an extensive research investigating children with severe Craniofacial Anomalies and their surgical and orthodontic treatment. In 1986, he was awarded a Fellowship by the Hospital for Sick Kids in Toronto to continue his research. He has published his research in a number of International Journals and has been awarded the prestigious Harry Sischer Award by the American Association of Orthodontists for this research.

Dr Bachmayer has a commitment to continuing education. He started the Sydney-Seattle Study Club in 2000 to promote a forum of a “University without Walls” for dentists and dental specialists in Sydney to discuss treatment of patients requiring comprehensive care and keep in touch with the latest developments in dentistry. The objective is to provide the highest level of patient care to the local community.
