Sarah obtained her Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Adelaide in 2002 and then worked in private practices, both in Adelaide and Sydney for four years.

Sarah's growing interest in orthodontics led her to post graduate studies at the University of Sydney, where she completed her Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Orthodontics in 2009. During the same period she qualified as a Member of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in the Specialist field of Orthodontics. In her final year of post graduate studies she received the Dentsply Prize for best faculty research and the Australian Society of Orthodontics NSW Award for best student case presentation.

Sarah is a member of the Australian Society of Orthodontists, Australian Dental Association and World Federation of Orthodontists. Sarah also represents the ASO (NSW) on the Dean's Advisory Panel. This panel selects the academic staff for the Orthodontic Department of the University of Sydney.

Sarah won the John Reading prize for the best submitted case at the ASO NSW clinical day in June 2013. Furthermore, Sarah is involved in the selection of the new Post Graduate Orthodontic students and has been invited to be part of the Discipline's External Advisory Committee. Sarah was chosen for this role to offer her expert advice and to help guide the University of Sydney on the direction in which they feel the Graduate Program should take regarding the future developments and innovations in the field of orthodontics.
