After more than 25 years in Dentistry, Dr Creagh brings to her patients a wealth of orthodontic experience. She maintains her interest and enthusiasm for the profession with a commitment to continually updating her skills by regularly attending conferences and courses both in Australia and overseas.

She balances her professional career with the responsibilities of her three children, and in her spare time enjoys hiking, snow skiing and travel.

Dr Fitzpatrick received his Bachelor of Dental Science degree with honours from the University of Queensland in 2000. As a general dentist, he lived and worked in Hervey Bay, the Sunshine Coast, the UK, Brisbane’s north western suburbs and the Brisbane CBD.

Dr Fitzpatrick gained his specialty in orthodontics from The University of Melbourne in 2011. He joined the Shine Orthodontics team in 2012 and enjoys sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm for orthodontics with the practice and our patients.

In his spare time he spends time with his young family and can be found mountain biking and snowboarding when the opportunity arises.

Dr Trusler has been an integral member of the Shine Orthodontics practice since 1988. He attended the University of Queensland where he obtained his Bachelor of Dental Science degree, graduating with First Class Honours in 1983.

While studying his final years of Dentistry, Dr Trusler received a scholarship with the Royal Australian Air Force and upon graduation spent the next three years working as a dental officer at No. 3 RAAF Hospital Richmond, New South Wales and Amberley, Queensland Air Force bases. Dr Trusler then returned to Brisbane to complete his Orthodontic Masters qualification.

His caring attitude and approachability make Dr Trusler very popular with his patients.

Dr Trusler maintains an enthusiastic interest in rugby and enjoys fishing. He is a keen runner, completing several half-marathons and the occasional fun run. However, his primary interests are those that involve his wife and three children.

With more than 35 years’ experience in dental practice, Dr Shields maintains a real enthusiasm for the profession and the practice of clinical orthodontics. While his secondary schooling and undergraduate dental training were completed at the University of Queensland, Dr Shields travelled to England to complete his orthodontic Masters qualifications at the prestigious University of London.

His commitment to his profession is ongoing with regular attendance at local, national and international orthodontic meetings and conferences enabling him to remain at the forefront of modern orthodontic philosophies and techniques. As one of the first orthodontists in Australia to achieve certification of the Australasian Orthodontic Board, Dr. Shields has further displayed his commitment to ongoing professional development.

Dr Shields’ fun-loving approach helps provide his patients with an enriching orthodontic experience, while his excellent communication skills give both his patients and their parents a clear understanding of the processes and goals of their orthodontic treatment.

His wife and three daughters occupy the majority of his spare time, however he maintains a keen interest in sailing, golf, snow skiing and rugby.

Dr Prem Patel joined Scott Smith Orthodontics in February 2019. Prem previously worked as a general dentist at Caledonian Dental (now Maven Dental) in Launceston for three years, before moving to Adelaide in 2014 to add to his orthodontic qualifications.

In 2015, Prem achieved first class honours before postgraduate study in orthodontics in 2016. He has since completed his MOrth examination, gainingMembership in Orthodontics of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, UK and a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Dental Surgeons (FRACDS).

Prem is a devout cricket fan who also loves playing tennis, reading, listening to music, playing the guitar, and travelling.
