Dr Varughese is honoured to be part of an orthodontic profession that allows him to improve the lives of people everyday by creating sensational smiles with the use of braces, invisalign and other orthodontic treatments. His patients range from children to adults, located in Foootscray, Traralgon and surrounding suburbs. He is proud to watch his patient’s self-confidence emerge as their smiles improve.

Following his graduation from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery, he worked as a general dentist in private practice in Canberra and as a Captain in the Royal Australian Army Dental Corps in N.S.W.

Dr Varughese then completed a 3 year full time specialist orthodontic training programme and graduated with a Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Orthodontics) at the University of Adelaide. His research thesis investigated the innovative technique of Distraction Osteogenesis and its application in orthodontics.

After completing further specialist orthodontic examinations in the United Kingdom, he received a Membership in Orthodontics from The Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh.

Dr Varughese has been involved in teaching dental nurses in the Royal Australian Army Dental Corps and undergraduate dental students at the University of Adelaide.

He is a member of numerous professional organisations, including:

Australian Society of Orthodontists, World Federation of Orthodontists, American Association of Orthodontists, Australian Dental Association and Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh.

Dr Varughese attends continuing education courses throughout Australia and internationally to learn the latest developments and technology in order to better serve his patients.

Dr Varughese has a special interest in early interceptive treatment for young children and adolescents to help prevent or minimise future orthodontic treatment. In addition, he has extensive experience treating adult patients and tailoring treatment for their individual needs.

He is proud to support the local Footscray, Traralgon and surrounding communities through a variety of sporting, arts and charity organisations.
