After completing high school in Perth, Dr Peter Munt completed a First Class Honours degree in Science at the University of Western Australia. Following two years working in Port Hedland, he was accepted into dentistry at the University of Western Australia. Here he was also awarded First Class Honours, along with many prizes for academic and practical excellence each year. Dr Munt then commenced practice in the government dental clinic in Bunbury, before becoming an associate and then practice owner for almost a decade in a private practice in West Perth.
Wishing to pursue a specialist career path, Dr Munt began the prestigious orthodontics programme at the University of Western Australia. Spending three years in full time study, finishing with a Master of Dental Science in Orthodontics, he was also awarded the TP (Australia) Postgraduate Award for the Best Clinically Treated case of any orthodontics student in Australasia.
Upon graduation, Dr Munt and his family moved to Ireland for 18 months, where he worked in the Health Service Executive as a specialist orthodontist.
Returning home, Dr Munt set down roots in Greenwood, in Perth’s northern suburbs and founded Scope Orthodontics, where he continues today.
Dr Munt holds a Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. He is a member of the Australian Dental Association, the Australian Society of Orthodontists, the American Association of Orthodontists and the World Federation of Orthodontists. He has been awarded fellowship in the Academy of Dentistry International and the International College of Dentists.
Dr Munt is a life member of Equal Health, an Australian charity organization that provides medical, dental and optical aid to third world countries. He and his wife Ellie, have made several aid trips to India, providing dental treatment to orphans and the underprivileged.
To assist in the ongoing development of his profession, Dr Munt offers his services as a part-time clinical tutor at the Oral Health Centre of WA, where he instructs the postgraduate orthodontic students at the University of Western Australia. He is also currently on the Federal Executive of the Australian Society of Orthodontists.
Outside of work, Dr Munt enjoys playing hockey, fishing and travelling, and spending time with his wife and three boys.
Dr Angela Ross completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the University of Otago in New Zealand in 2006. Following the completion of her dental degree she worked in private practice in New Zealand and in rural New South Wales. After 3 years as a general practitioner, she moved to Perth and pursued her specialist training at UWA. In 2012 she completed the Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Orthodontics and the Memberships in Orthodontics at both the Royal College on Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Australasian Royal College of Dental Surgeons.
Dr Ross holds professional memberships in the Australian Society of Orthodontists (ASO), the Australian Dental Association (ADA), and has been certified by the Australian Orthodontic Board (AOB).
Dr Ross practices all facets of modern orthodontics, including early and interventional orthodontics, Invisalign clear aligner therapy and cases incorporating orthognathic surgery.
Dr Ross spent her childhood living in rural southern New Zealand before moving to Canada in her early teens. She enjoys living in a much warmer country and is happy to call Perth home. Outside of work Dr Ross spends as much time as possible enjoying the outdoors. She is a competitive runner, and also enjoys cycling, hiking adventures and is an avid traveller.
