Your smile has the power to transform your face, so it’s important to make sure you’re in expert hands. Dr Siva Vasudavan is our Orthodontist-in-Chief and is qualified as a Specialist Orthodontist. As his office wall attests, he has undertaken more than 10 years advanced clinical training at world class tertiary institutions.
Dr Siva grew up in Perth and is a graduate of the UWA School of Dentistry. He worked in the Paediatric Dental Department at Princess Margaret Hospital for a number of years prior to being accepted into the prestigious Specialist Orthodontic Training Program at the University of Sydney. After completing this 3 year intensive training program, Dr Siva graduated with a Master of Dental Science specialising in Orthodontics.
Dr Siva was selected as the inaugural Fellow in the Harvard University Craniofacial and Cleft Lip/Palate Orthodontics program at Boston Children’s Hospital, Massachusetts, USA. He completed this clinical Fellowship program over two years and concurrently completed a Master of Public Health degree from the Harvard University School of Public Health. Dr Siva continues to contribute to academic endeavours in orthodontic education and research as a Faculty Member and Visiting Lecturer at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and Children’s Hospital Boston Department of Dentistry.
Dr Siva holds memberships in many professional organisations including the Australian Society of Orthodontists, American Association of Orthodontists, American Craniofacial and Cleft Lip/Palate Association, Australian Dental Association, Harvard Society for the Advancement of Orthodontics and the Tweed Edgewise Orthodontic Society. He is a Fellow of the World Federation of Orthodontists, a certified member of the Australasian Orthodontic Board and has completed examinations leading to specialist membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons.
Not only does Dr Siva have the qualifications, he has the patience. As the dad of two young children, Chase and Stella, he is a master at making even his littlest patients feel at ease.
