Dr Khanna completed her masters in orthodontics from University of Mumbai in 1998. She moved to Australia soon after and joined the Orthodontic Department at Westmead Centre for Oral Health.
After completing her dental and specialist post graduate examinations with the University of Sydney, she is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons, in the Specialist stream of Orthodontics.
Dr Khanna works part-time as a Staff Specialist in Orthodontics at Westmead Centre for Oral Health and a consultant orthodontist at the Specialist Dental Centre of Westmead Hospital, where her interest lies in treating patients with complex orthodontic and multi-disciplinary treatment needs and is actively involved in teaching dental and orthodontic students while mentoring dental officers and hygienists.
Besides her passion in orthodontics, she is busy on weekends chauffeuring her teenage sons to various sporting activities. She is a member of local study group and travels to national and international conferences for continuing professional development.
Presently her interest in orthodontics lies in treatment with lingual braces and the use of aligners like Invisalign® in correcting malocclusion.
Dr Synnott has been an orthodontist for 20 years and feels very fortunate to have found a job he enjoys so much.
Born in Sydney, Dr Synnott completed his last three years of high school in NZ and trained there as a dentist. He at Auckland Hospital for one year as a House Surgeon.
After returning to Sydney he had my own private practice for a few years before commencing specialty training in orthodontics at the University of Sydney.
Dr Synnott is a Senior Visiting Specialist in orthodontics at Westmead Hospital, Sydney. This role often involves providing specialist treatment for patients with a wide variety of developmental problems. He has also been involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate orthodontic tutoring with the University of Sydney.
His interests involve spending as much time as possible with his wife and children, all of whom fortunately share a good sense of humour.
Dr Omar grew up in Sydney before his parents moved to Egypt for about 10 years. On his return he completed high school in the Hills area before going onto complete his Bachelor of dental surgery with second class honours at the University of Sydney. He then worked as a private general dentist in the picturesque Glenbrook (Lower Blue Mountains) and at Lansvale for a period of six years.
He enjoyed traveling and site seeing with his wife, before embarking on the Masters of Dental Science (Orthodontics) at the University of Sydney, graduating in 2005.
Despite the busy practice and family life, Dr Omar enjoys playing soccer and an occasional game of tennis. He particularly enjoys the involvement with his children’s sports team activities, whether it is soccer, tennis , cycling or karate.
Traveling to some remote destinations is an ambition of his, which he is still working on with his wife. He is a fellow of Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (FRACDS), member of the Australian Society of Orthodontists (ASO) and the Australian Dental Association (ADA) and holds a Membership of Orthodontics of the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh (M Orth RCS Edin).
