Lavrin and Lawrence Orthodontics: Templestowe

Dr Lavrin grew up in both Melbourne and Hong Kong. He received his dental education at the University of Adelaide. Dr Lavrin then worked as a general dentist in Melbourne and Warrandyte.

Furthering his expertise, Dr Lavrin completed a three-year orthodontic specialist programme and Master's at Harvard University in the United States.

He has been the recipient of numerous awards for scholastic and clinical excellence and Dr Lavrin has published articles in orthodontic and scientific literature.

He has worked in private orthodontic practice in Massachusetts, USA, lectured in Australia and internationally in the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Fiji, Indonesia, Singapore and South Korea. He has also taught orthodontics to dental students at Harvard University.

Dr Lavrin has taught in the Orthodontic Department at the University of Melbourne and is on the Editorial Board of the Australian Orthodontic Journal.

He is a Clinical Consultant and International Lecturer for Invisalign. He is proud to be part of a husband and wife team with Dr Sarah Lawrence at Lavrin & Lawrence Orthodontics. Their practice has Diamond Provider status from Invisalign.

Dr Sarah Lawrence originally grew up in New Zealand and graduated from the University of Otago, New Zealand, with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery with honours. Upon graduation, Dr Lawrence worked in both private and hospital practice as a General Dentist.

She spent two years in the United Kingdom as a Senior House Officer in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Returning to Australia, Dr Lawrence completed her three-year specialist orthodontic training at the University of Melbourne.

Dr Lawrence has experience in treating patients with craniofacial anomalies including Cleft Lip and Palate as well as medically-compromised patients. She has lectured in Australia and New Zealand and has taught orthodontics at the University of Melbourne and the Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne.

Dr Lawrence is married to Dr Lavrin, her partner in life as well as in business, and they have three girls.

Dr Lawrence is a Clinical Consultant and Speaker for Invisalign and together with Dr Lavrin their practice, Lavrin & Lawrence Orthodontics is a Diamond Provider of Invisalign.

Dr Alison Sahhar grew up in Gippsland, Victoria. She graduated from La Trobe University in the inaugural dentistry cohort. During her tertiary education, Alison was awarded the final year academic prize in dentistry and was a recipient of the International Golden Key award for academic success.

Following graduation, Alison returned to work in her hometown, Warragul for three years as a general dentist. Alison also returned to La Trobe University teaching dentistry students as a preclinical and clinical demonstrator. Dr Sahhar then completed the Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Orthodontics, a three-year specialist training programme at the University of Melbourne.

Alison holds professional membership in the Australian Society of Orthodontists, the Australian Dental Association and is a certified member of the Australasian Orthodontic Board. Alison has had strong involvement with the Australian Dental Association Victorian Branch previously serving as chair of the recent graduates and students committee, member of the CPD committee and chair of the South Eastern group.
