Danny Yang grew up in Auckland, New Zealand.He attended the University of Otago where he attained his General Dental Degree (BDS) in 2003.He worked for 2 years as a Maxillo-Facial surgeon for the Auckland District Board of Health.He moved to Sydney where he practised as a general dentist for four years, and in that time also taught at Westmead Hospital. In 2007 he obtained his fellowship from the Royal College of Dental Surgeons (FRACDS). He later pursued his interest in Postgraduate studies in Orthodontics at the University of WA and attained his Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry (Dclin Dent) in 2012. In 2016 he obtained a PhD (Orthodontics) from the University of WA
Steven Cave was born in the local area and attended school at Kotara High. He completed his General Dental Degree (BDS) at Sydney University in 1993 and graduated with First Class Honours and was awarded the University Medal. He then practiced general dentistry at Charlestown for four years.
In 1997 he moved to Brisbane where he attended the University of Queensland where he obtained his Masters Degree in Orthodontics (MDSc). He joined the practice in 2000, and currently resides in the Port Stephens area.He is a member of the Australian Dental Association and Australian Society of Orthodontics. His wife, Christine is a dental technician/prosthetist and they have three school aged children
Dr Kay Kanthathas moved to the Newcastle area from the United Kingdom and joined Hunter Valley Orthodontics in 2011. He qualified from the University of Liverpool in 1996 with the Bachelor of Dental Surgery. Following graduation he worked in general practice for a year. To further enhance and broaden his experience, he worked in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery for three years before specialising in Orthodontics. Dr Kay completed the postgraduate (MSc) Orthodontic training from the University of Sheffield in 2003.He worked as an Orthodontist in the hospital and private practice in Hertfordshire (UK) for 8 years, before moving over to Australia. With his extensive knowledge of routine orthodontic appliances, he has also been certified to use the Incognito lingual appliance (Hidden braces) and Invisalign (clear aligners) treatment systems. Dr Kay is a current member of the British Orthodontic Society, American Orthodontic Society and World Federation of Orthodontists.
His interests outside dentistry include spending time with his wife and two young children and exploring the Australian landscape and all it has to offer.
