Dr Brennan grew up in the medieval Irish city of Kilkenny and relocated to Sydney in 2003. She qualified with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from The University of Sheffield. Following a period in general dental practice she entered the specialist training pathway in the UK.
For more than five years Dr Brennan was at the front line of dental and facial trauma in some of the UK’s busiest hospitals working as a Resident in Maxillofacial Surgery. This involved covering the A&E department for facial trauma in addition to assisting and managing patients with both Corrective Facial Surgery and Oral and Facial cancers. She also gained extensive skills and experience in Oral Surgery and sedation.
She was accepted onto a full time postgraduate training programme at The University of Leeds and graduated with a distinction in the Masters in Dental Science. The British Orthodontic Society awarded her the top honour for outstanding Post Graduate Research for her work into developing a new antimicrobial orthodontic adhesive.
Dr Brennan is dedicated to providing high quality orthodontics and has a strong interest in new and developing technologies. She frequently attends courses and conferences to stay up-to-date with the current research and treatment modalities. Dr Brennan has been a key lecturer in orthodontics to general dentists as well as undergraduate dental students.
Outside of the practice Dr Brennan, in addition to caring for her young family, enjoys sailing and travelling.
