Mark Leedham came to Darwin as a newly graduated dentist and worked in Darwin and Katherine, and rural and remote areas for almost 10 years, before undertaking post-graduate studies in orthodontics at the University of Adelaide.

He has practiced as an orthodontist in Darwin and Katherine for over 20 years. His principal practice location is in Tiwi, in the northern suburbs of Darwin, with branches in Palmerston and Katherine. He continues to do sessional work for the Health Department at Darwin Dental Clinic, at Casuarina.

Mark is also a member of the Northern Territory Cleft Lip and Palate Clinic, based at the Royal Darwin Hospital, and is an accredited Orthodontist with Medicare under the Cleft Lip and Palate Scheme.

Currently Mark is also the co-ordinator for a program to provide orthodontic care to cleft lip and palate patients in East Timor. This program sees orthodontists from the Australasian Begg Society of Orthodontists visit Dili on a regular basis.

Mark Leedham also holds post-graduate qualifications in Forensic Odontology, and has deployed overseas to work in Disaster Victim Identification, and to Melbourne after the bushfires. He also works as a consultant to the Northern Territory Coroner, and the NT Police.

He is a member of the Australian Dental Association, Australian Society of Orthodontists, the American Association of Orthodontists, the Australasian Begg Society of Orthodontists, and the Australian Society of Forensic Odontology.

Mark regularly attends conferences in Australia and overseas to keep his knowledge current. The practice uses the latest technology, including digital photography and Xrays, (and 3D digital xrays, where required). Recently the practice has moved to digital impressions (rather than taking moulds of the teeth) which can be sent to a 3D printer.

Mark enjoys walking, cycling, and travelling when time permits! He is sadly, a cricket "tragic"!
