Dr Chen is originally from Brisbane and graduated from the University of Adelaide dental school in 2003. He practiced for numerous years as a general dentist in both the private and public sector before returning to the University of Adelaide for further studies, completing his Honours research degree with first class honours in 2008. He then completed his specialisation in orthodontics as well as attaining memberships in orthodontics with the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons and the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh.
Dr Chen regularly attends meetings, courses and conferences (local and international) to ensure he is up-to-date with the latest technologies and breakthroughs. He is a member of the Australian Dental Association as well as the Australian Society of Orthodontists. He is also a certified member of the Australian Orthodontic Board.
Dr Chen is a clinical tutor within the University of Adelaide post graduate Orthodontic Programme.
Aside from straightening teeth, Dr Chen is also good at burning his cooking, although this does not seem to stop him! He also enjoys bush walking, tennis and reading a good book. However, since the birth of his three children, you’ll mainly find him in the supermarket looking lost or acting as a chauffeur to his children’s busy lifestyles.
