Dr. Sepehr Tabatabaee (Sep) was awarded a Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Azad University in 2000. He worked in the private sector and the academic world locally and internationally for 12 years. Being a clinical tutor at Griffith University for final-year future dentists, he became strongly interested in the art and science of orthodontics and smile design. He started his three-year orthodontic training at the University of Queensland where he obtained a Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry in orthodontics. Additionally, he gained Membership in Orthodontics, a specialist orthodontic examination directed by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Sep is also a member of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons, Australian Society of orthodontists (ASO), the Australian Orthodontic Board, and the Australian Dental Association.
He has published in different fields in dentistry including periodontics and endodontics (European Endodontic journal) and has presented his research in orthodontics in the international dental conference (IADR) in 2015. He regularly attends local and international conferences and belongs to several dental study groups including the Australian Prosthodontic Society, Society of Pediatric Dentistry, and ADA Gold Coast branch.
Sep currently holds the position of Senior Lecturer in orthodontics at the Griffith University, teaching orthodontics to future dentists.
Sep enjoys his spare time with family and friends. If there is any time left, then playing tennis, watching a sci-fi movie, or reading a thriller would be next on the list.
