Dr Philip
Nguyen is an AHPRA registered
specialist orthodontist and ASO member
While Philip grew up in Sydney's Inner West, his studies and work have taken him across Australia. He earned his Bachelor of Dental Science degree with Honours from the University of Queensland in 2016. After graduation, he joined Sydney Dental Hospital's New Graduate Program, gaining experience in several specialist clinics. In 2017, he completed the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons' primary examinations and thereafter worked as a dental officer in Special Care Dentistry for several years.
Philip's passion for orthodontics led him to the University of Adelaide, where he completed his specialist orthodontic qualifications in 2023. Upon graduation, he became a Board Certified Orthodontist and a Member of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in Orthodontics. He later worked as a visiting dental specialist at Adelaide Dental Hospital and a travelling private orthodontist across Adelaide and rural South Australia. Eventually, Philip returned to his roots in Sydney to establish Arete Orthodontics.
Calm and easy-going yet meticulous and conscientious, Philip takes a patient-centred, down-to-earth approach to ensure every patient feels well-informed and cared for throughout their orthodontic journey. Outside work, Philip enjoys spending time with loved ones, taking walks, listening to oldies music, and exploring history and philosophy. He is also bilingual in English and Vietnamese.
