Dr Peter
Monckton is an AHPRA registered
specialist orthodontist and ASO member
Dr Peter Monckton graduated from the University of Queensland in 1985 and spent three years as a flying dentist in the outback. During this time, he held positions as dentist-in-charge of Longreach and Mt Isa Base Hospitals. From 1989 to 1992, Dr Monckton practiced general Dentistry privately in Goondiwindi.
From 1992 to 1995, Dr Monckton undertook postgraduate training in Orthodontics at the University of Pennsylvania in the United States.
After returning to Australia Dr Monckton set up practice in Mackay. Over the past 23 years, the practice has grown from one chair and one staff member to the successful practice that it is today.
Dr Monckton is a leader in technological advances in his practice and stays on the cutting edge of orthodontics by participating in a variety of continuing education.
Dr Monckton is renowned for his excellent manner with his patients and for keeping his patients and parents informed throughout all stages of orthodontic treatment. Outside of the clinic, Dr Monckton enjoys running, cycling, fishing and spending time at his beach house in Seaforth (if he has time after his children’s sporting commitments).
