Dr Peter Miles

Dr Peter Miles was born in Gympie and later moved to Caloundra where his father was the first principal of Caloundra State High School. He then attended Brisbane State High School and enrolled in the University of Queensland’s Bachelor of Dental Science, before graduating with honours in 1985. To become a registered specialist orthodontist, Dr Miles then attended the orthodontic program at the University of Pittsburgh achieving his Certificate of Orthodontics and Masters of Dental Science in 1994, graduating first in his class.

In addition to his full time orthodontic practice, Dr Miles taught future orthodontists at the University of Queensland for over 10 years and is a visiting lecturer at Seton Hill University in the USA and is involved in orthodontic research. When not practicing orthodontics, Dr Miles enjoys spending time with his family, kite surfing and keeping fit and healthy.

Dr Miles has published over 45 research papers and book chapters and has been invited to lecture around the world. He has also published an orthodontic textbook titled Evidence Based Clinical Orthodontics, where Dr Miles worked on the book as an editor and an author of several chapters.
