Counsel is an AHPRA registered
specialist orthodontist and ASO member
After obtaining his Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Sydney in 1983, Dr Counsel practiced in the UK for two years. Following his return to Australia, he established a practice in Illawong. During this time he served as Secretary for Occlusal Studies.
His interest in occlusion and facial development lead him to undertake post graduate study in orthodontics at the University of Manitoba, Canada, where he completed his Master of Science degree and Certificate of Proficiency in Clinical Orthodontics.
Back in Australia, Dr Counsel practiced orthodontics in Sydney's southern suburbs before setting up his own practice in Menai in 2001.
He is a member of the Australian Society of Orthodontists, World Federation of Orthodontists and is a Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy.
